Offering glassy, smooth conditions, the protected bay of Playa Danta is perfect for sea kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Las Catalinas is a paradise for hikers and trail runners, with a gamut of exciting tracks that provide unforgettable moments and breathtaking views. Apart from mountain biking trails, there are five trails designated for hiking.
These paths traverse the waterfront and head up to some of the highest points in Las Catalinas, with numerous lookouts and the chance to encounter birds and other wildlife.

Mountain biking is a very popular sport here in Costa Rica. Over 22 kilometers of world-class, single-track trails with shifting views of the coast make Las Catalinas a destination for mountain biking enthusiasts from around the globe.
Deep in the shade of our quiet valleys, like a scene straight out of the movie Jurassic Park, you can marvel at the flora and fauna around you. Likely wildlife sightings include monkeys, coatis (relatives of the raccoon), deer, peccaries (wild hogs), and a variety of exotic birds.
Our trails are sustainably built with a moderate grade, making for fantastic “flow” riding with enjoyable swoops and roller coasters but no sustained, grunting climbs.
Pura Vida Ride, our local partner, provides bikes, guidance, tours, and repairs.
Reserve a shared catamaran for a scenic afternoon at sea, culminating in a dramatic sunset you will never forget. The tour departs from the Flamingo Marina and sails along the coast, anchoring at a pristine, secluded beach reachable only by boat.
There, you can snorkel with a guide, kayak, swim, or just relax on board. Delicious snacks and drinks (open bar) are included.

Zipping from within the white canyon, get a bird’s-eye view of this natural wonder. Spend a day exploring the scenic and unique landscape and topography of the Río Perdido property in Guanacaste. This volcanic area contains a natural thermal river that stuns with its hues of blue and emerald green. The inspiring Río Blanco canyon is the main stage for a thrilling cable-based sequence, which includes 15 platforms (6 of them rock-based, 9 of them suspended on the canyon walls), a pendulum cable, a 50-foot Tarzan swing, a 90-foot challenge bridge, four via ferratas (climbing routes built with a fixed steel cable) with lengths varying from 15 to over 30 feet, and five zip lines with lengths varying from 260 to over 800 feet.
